Research and development of technologies for the environment
Research and development projects which are in progress in DEKONTA are currently focused on innovations of biotechnologies for remediation of groundwater, waste water, sludge and soil contaminated by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, chlorinated hydrocarbon, absorbable or extractable organic halogens. Simultaneously, new methods are being put in place, e.g. for monitoring of respirometric and eco-toxicological parameters. One of the widely used methods is monitored natural attenuation, ancillary biodegradation (e.g. by adding of substances of human character or by means of side products of food), intensification of the processes of biodegradation by means of special biopreparation (bacteria, basidiomycets) and phytoremediation. New systems for bio-filtration of waste aerate.
DEKONTA also concentrates on research and development, in particular, in the area of separation of oil sludge, in-situ stabilisation or chemical oxidation.
- Genetic and physiological manipulations in bacterial degraders of aromatic pollutants and their application
- Groundwater remediation by means of permeable reactive barriers
- The influence of the new added biocomponents on the fate and behaviour of fuels in the environment in case of emergency situation
- The use of genomics and genetic engineering for identification and development of plant genotypes suitable for environment bioremediation
- Research and development of a combined biofilter for treatment of waste gases and water from lifestock production
- Research and development of modified methods for biodegradation of organic contaminants and a method of determination of biodegradation efficiency by means of biomarkers
