Biodegradation of contaminated materials

The term biodegradation means involving biological factors within the framework of processes connected with degradation (i.e. dissociation of pollutants to carbon dioxide and water), by transformation or immobilisation of pollutants which are a burden to the environment.

Biodegradation can be used for any remediation work of any pollution caused by organic or inorganic substances. The objectives of such intervention are to find more micro-organism, conditions and ways of realisation which convert the pollutants into substances with minimal negative impact on the environment.
